Unemployment Insurance: Application for unemployment benefits provided through covered employers is available over the Internet at home, library or wherever Internet access is available. Unemployment benefits are for those out of work through no fault of their own. A legal decision regarding eligibility will be made on separation issues resulting from an employee quitting or being fired. The internet based program is called Uplink. Information Resource Area: This area in the Richmond office offers extensive resources for those seeking work or wanting to choose or change a career. Internet access is available for searching on-line job banks. Personal computers with special software for writing your own resume are available for your use. A video library of careers is available for viewing. Information on post-secondary education with IU East, Purdue Statewide Technology, Ivy Tech, and Earlham is available. Literature related to the workforce is available to employers including Labor Market Information, UI tax law, child labor, and wage and hour law. Workshops: Visit our "Event Calendar" to see a list of workshops available to those registered in our computer system. Adult Basic Education: Preparation for GED, math review, career development, KeyTrain and basic skill brush up help are available through these sessions. This is an alternate site to the FIND Center. Hours are Monday through Thursday 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Workers Over 55: Cindy Johnson, regional director for EXPERIENCE WORKS, is available in our office on an appointment basis. This program for the mature workforce (55+ with income eligibility) provides special paid work experience that can prepare the worker for a permanent position. Job Corps: A representative from JOB CORPS is available in our office once a month to interview candidates eligible for this program.
